Privacy
This page explains what Tactyle collects in two places: this website, and the Tactyle screens themselves. The screens are the part worth reading closely — they carry a camera, and we'd rather over-explain than leave anything implied.
The website
-
Analytics
This site sets no analytics, no ad pixels and no cross-site tracking. Our CDN keeps standard, short-lived server logs (IP address, user agent, URL) to run and secure the site.
-
Forms and calculators
Nothing you type is sent to our servers. The calculators run in your browser. If you choose “Chat on WhatsApp” or email, the message you see is handed to WhatsApp or your mail app and goes to a human. We don't sell or share what you send us.
-
Demo creatives
If you drop an image into the city simulation on this site, it stays in your browser's memory and is never uploaded.
-
The gesture demo
The webcam demo is opt-in. Frames are processed on your device by a hand-tracking model served from this site; no video, image or landmark data leaves your browser, and the camera stops the moment you close the demo or leave the tab.
-
Cookies
No cookies beyond what's essential to run the site (there's no login, no ad targeting, and no tracking cookie set on this domain).
The screens
A Tactyle screen has a camera pointed at the space in front of it. Here is exactly why it's there and what happens to what it sees.
-
Why there's a camera
The camera exists to detect presence and read hand gestures — so a screen knows when someone is there and can respond to a wave or an open palm. It is not there for surveillance and is never used for identity verification.
-
On-device processing
Everything the camera sees is processed on the screen's own hardware, in real time. Video is never streamed or uploaded to any server, ours or anyone else's.
-
No PII, no face identification
The screen does not identify who you are. It has no name, phone number, or photo on file to match a face against, and it does not build one — it estimates rough, anonymous attributes (presence, gesture, approximate age/gender) and discards the image.
-
Anonymous aggregates only
What leaves the screen is a small set of anonymous event numbers — a person count, a gesture event, a demographic estimate, a play confirmation. None of it can be traced back to an individual.
-
Data retention
Only the anonymous aggregate events above are retained, for analytics and billing (proof-of-play) purposes. No images or video are ever stored, on the screen or in the cloud.
